Owner Spotlight: Craig Miller

I’m Craig Miller, the proud owner of Craig Miller Productions. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

Since a very young age, I was always interested in theatre and performing. It set me on a road into the entertainment business. I was a late-night disc jockey, a summer stock performer, but by the time I got to college, I had convinced myself that I would be better behind the camera instead of in front of it.

I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in radio T.V. and film. Upon completing my studies, I accepted a position with AFLAC Inc. as their first video producer and learned the in’s and out’s of the industry.

In 1985, I established my full-service film and video production company in Atlanta, Georgia, Craig Miller Productions, with my first account Callaway Gardens and Resort. My vision for the future was to be a production company, not a freelancer, so I made sure my business carried production insurance, had a physical office, and took on jobs far more extensive than expected. I knew we could grow into the leader we are today with good work and a big Rolodex.

In the thirty-six years I have operated my business, my long-term relationships with companies like The Coca-Cola Company, AGCO, UPS, The United States Army, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Georgia Tourism are a testament to our creative and technical capabilities. I have grown from a one-person shop to having a team of professionals that are indeed the best in the business.

The part of my business I most enjoy is problem-solving. It never fails to keep things interesting. I find the fulfillment of creatively solving a communications challenge presented to us a real rush. Similarly, I have also grown to realize the importance of working with partners that know our clients’ industries and enjoy the increased decision-making prowess they provide.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my firm belief in Jesus Christ. Being a filmmaker is a lot like being a farmer. You have to trust that God will provide. You work hard and pray often. I don’t always make the right choices, but I work hard to be honest, fair and creative.

I attribute my success to the dedication and hard work of my fantastic team. I am also extraordinarily grateful for my loyal clientele and strive to maintain the highest standard of work ethic for them.

Successfully running my business, reaching milestones, and overcoming numerous challenges has given me immense satisfaction over the years. We are actually now doing the best work we have ever done and rapidly growing.

When I am not at work, I like going on road trips, traveling, and discovering new places. I generally take the road less traveled, get off the beaten track, and I find this leads me to unique and authentic experiences, photographs, and unforgettable meals with amazing people.

I also believe in giving back to society and have long been a supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities as part of that belief. I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
